The team

Beam is run by a team of incredible experts — who all work part-time. We’re feisty in our pursuit of great roles for Beamers and great talent for companies.

The original Beam team are Victoria Stuart and Stephanie Reuss — they’ve felt the pain of work-life imbalance and the pain of how hard it can be to find great talent for their professional teams.

Friends since University days, they’ve shared the roller-coaster ups and downs in travel, living overseas, progressing their careers and growing their families.

Steph and Vic’s work-life balance challenge is not unique. It happens every day in Australia and around the world.

As parents, we go from the highs of seeing our kids take their first steps to missing them say ‘Mummy’ for the first time because we were in an important meeting. Senior executives around Australia are brought to tears every day because of the tug-of-war between their family and work demands. A lack of work-life balance is the #1 and #2 cause of anxiety in Women and Men respectively between the ages of 30 and 40. Awful for parents and awful for companies.

But it absolutely isn't just about parents. Many people can't work a traditional full-time week and find themselves locked out of the workforce or stuck in junior roles that don't match their capability: carers, pre-retirees, professional athletes and more.

Beam’s dream is to change this story.

Employers can now exchange flexibility for the best talent in the market. And Beam is the place to do it.
