The role

LiveHire is looking for a Legal Business Partner with solid in-house experience at a fast-paced technology business working on a variety of contracts and privacy advice.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, as Legal Counsel, you will have autonomy over the legal function supported by the General Counsel.

You will accelerate LiveHire’s success by driving awareness of legal risks, and continuously improving processes to ensure compliance in a fast-paced environment.

You will help negotiate deals to help the business grow in Australia and internationally with blue-chip clients.

  • Customer, supplier, outsourcing, SaaS and partner contracts
  • Delivering legal training and building processes and policies
  • Working closely with the General Counsel and external company secretarial team

About you

They must have a positive outlook, be comfortable with ambiguity and thrive working in an ever-evolving and fast-paced business. For this role, we’re seeking someone with:

  • 12+ years legal experience, including experience in a well-regarded law firm and in-house business (fast paced-technology businesses will be highly regarded)
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Flexible and able to prioritise competing priorities under time pressure
  • Maturity to balance business goals with legal risks in line with the business’ risk appetite
  • Willingness to roll up their sleeves and work of varying complexities and subject matters
  • Ability to translate complex legal issues into succinct and clear advice to enable quick and easy decision making by stakeholders
  • Proactively seek out ways to improve the legal function and broader business – more than just a legal advisor.

What’s the deal?

  • Part-time: 16 hours across the week, ideally evenly spread but we are flexible.
  • Location: we have offices in Melbourne and Sydney, but offer a blend of in-office and WFH (we’re well set up for this)
  • Salary: $78K + super for the 16 hours (i.e. 0.4 of a Full Time Equivalent)
  • Starting: we’d love you to start immediately!
