Purpose of the position

Christian Brothers High School in Lewisham aims to be the Catholic boys school of choice for families in the Inner West / Inner South- West of Sydney.

Reporting to the Business Manager, the overall objective of this role is to manage CBHS’s marketing activities to support the brand position and aspirations. The functions of the Marketing Officer will continue to evolve with the needs of the school and our stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain the Schools website, updating copy, creating and posting news articles and updating images on a regular basis
  • Manage CBHS’s social media platforms in line with the social media plan: creating and posting; managing paid promotions; and communicating with our stakeholders through the platforms
  • Project manage print and digital advertising campaigns, including concept development; working with designers to execute the concept and liaising with the publications
  • Create and send newsletters: working with internal teams to build content, and sending to a database of subscribers
  • Event manage a range of school events, including promoting, managing invitations and maintaining cohesive branding across the whole event
  • When required attend after hour School events
  • Creation of regular reports including budgeting, campaign reports and digital analytics
  • External stakeholder and supplier management
  • Be the brand champion across the school

  • In addition, perform other duties as required by the Principal

Requirements of the role

A high level of technical ability including use of:

  • CMS (esp. WordPress)
  • Mailing systems (e.g. Mailchimp; Campaign Monitor)
  • Events systems (e.g. EventBrite; Humanitix)
  • Social media platforms
  • Office and Google suite of products
  • Project management skills

Selection Criteria

Specialist knowledge and attributes:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both in-person and in writing
  • Editing and proofing skills
  • Understanding of the Catholic ethos and values of CBHS
  • Creative and visual thinking skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Reporting and other relationships

All roles are responsible to the Principal. This role reports operationally to the Business Manager.

The offer
  • 30.4 hours/week – we’re really flexible,  tell us how this works for you across the week
  • Term time employment only (you’ll be free for school holidays!)
  • You may be required to work evenings and in school holidays on occasion, but with prior notice
  • Salary of $90k inc super (full time equivalent)
  • This equates to a salary of $68k inc super and leave loading for 30.4 hours/week, term time only
